Asia Talent Team on the second row for Le Mans

19 May 2017

Somkiat Chantra leads the charge on the world stage as part of the #FrenchGP

Asia Talent Team rider Somkiat Chantra leads the Asia Talent Team charge at the second round of the 2017 FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ Junior World Championship, qualifying in fifth after timing it to perfection in mixed conditions at Le Mans.
QP1 saw rain throughout, with QP2 then beginning to dry before the weather changed again. Albacete polesitter Chantra set his fastest lap in the perfect window to get the impressive P5, with the other ATT riders then caught out as the unpredictable heavens opened.
Yuki Kunii will therefore begin the race from P17, with a more difficult day for fellow Asia Talent Team riders Kazuki Masaki and Ai Ogura in P25 and P26 respectively, looking to fight their way through on Saturday.
Andi Farid missed the second QP session after a crash in the first, and was subsequently diagnosed with a small fracture in both hands - one of which requires surgery. Farid will miss the race and return to Barcelona for the procedure, scheduled for Monday with Dr Xavier Mir.
The grid line up for lights out at 16:30 (GMT +2) on Saturday, with the four Asia Talent Team riders ready to race for the first time on a new track for each of them.

As always all of the action can be followed LIVE on FIM CEV Repsol YouTube channel.
